Solid results 2004 from Mark Information

Companies' need for increased competitive power entails an increase in their demand for IT solutions for resource optimization and planning. This is clearly manifested in the newly released accounts of Danish-based Mark Information, which give proof of growth on all fronts.

The Danish company Mark Information A/S, one of Northern Europe's leading suppliers of solutions for resource optimization and planning, has just released their accounts for 2004. The accounts covering the parent company and four business units in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the UK, show progress all round.

The positive figures are the result of a strategy developed at the beginning of 2004 with increased focus on customers' mission-critical business processes as well as a succesful reorganization ensuring greater consideration for customer needs. With a strengthening of both group management and the local business units, Mark Information is even better prepared for further growth.

In 2004, the Mark Information Group managed to increase gross margin to 41.1 mill. DKK. Even on earnings, Mark Information showed a considerable increase. The profit before tax amounted to just below 2.7 mill. DKK which is almost six times the result of 2003 (0.5 mill. DKK). Solidity is up by a good 10% point to 34.2%.

- At the beginning of 2004 we placed responsibility for sales, marketing, implementation and support with the local business units. Simultaneously, we strengthened local management and concentrated our focus on select customer segments. This has lead to evident results in the shape of increased sales and strongly improved earnings. Results are satisfactory and prove that our new strategy bears fruit, states Carlos M. Christensen, group CEO of Mark Information A/S.

Significant progress in Denmark
The maximum progress has taken place in the Danish home market, where in 2004 the business unit Mark Information Danmark A/S reached impressive results. Gross margin almost doubled compared to the year before and reached 11.7 mill. DKK. Earnings also developed most positively. The profit of the year reached 3.6 mill. DKK as opposed to 0.6 mill DKK in 2003.

- The increased globalization and competition from low pay countries have resulted in increased interest in systems which collect, treat and visualize companies' resource consumption by means of real-time information. We have experienced a large augmentation of new customers in Denmark, and at the same time, we have reduced costs. The activity level was increased during 2004, and we targeted our efforts towards a series of well-defined areas. The task of simplifying and rationalizing our internal processes will continue this year, and we expect continued growth as a consequence of our increased customer focus, says Carlos M. Christensen, who entered the position of group CEO of Mark Information A/S in December 2003.
